While a worthy symbol, at the end of the day it is still only a symbol: the finger pointing at the moon and not the moon itself.
It cannot really be reclaimed in Europe or the Americas because it was only a minor symbol in those places. Other symbols and ideas were more popular.
However with reclaiming the symbol sought, I would say that it will be possible to reclaim the symbol in the West around the time when Germans feel comfortable enough to commonly name their male children Adolph.
Of course the “swastika” has always been a symbol of religion and as a lucky charm dating back to the early part of recorded history, however the liberal use of it is still up for debate. Not to offend or defend anyone, but the historical significance that is permanently juxtaposed with the symbol has to always be accounted for.
I’ve read the different opinions that the public has to say about the dark history of symbols and also its enlightenment attributes. But to ignorantly glorify this symbol without a hesitant thought of its effects is as similarly decadent as whatever the Nazis had done. However, its not to say that doing the opposite, like banning its existence from society would be a wise choice.
I have a friend who is an artist, who was really interested in the overall reaction to the swastika. So as a fantastic painter, he created beautiful paintings of the symbol; some with flowers surrounding it or different sceneries that would evoke beautiful memories. However, even with the beautiful content surrounding the symbol, the swastika still created riveting feelings of disgust due to its most popular association.
I think if society as a collective whole extends the courtesy of acknowledging the “swastika’s” symbolic significance in a historical prospective for the rest of the world, apart from the Nazi uses of it. And if we were slow to constrict ourselves from truth, even if it’s not pretty, history wouldn’t repeat itself so much. The idea of a world of free-thinkers is too idealistic, so as a free thinker, we must compromise with the rest of the world.
I would have to prize logic over religion in a certain and perhaps primary light; but I still think that the symbolism of the swastika is beautiful.
The general question was posed somewhere on this site: “Why did the Third Reich fall when it had such a symbol as it’s ‘guiding star’?” I would like to point out the fact that Adolf Hitler and ultimately his Reich set off in an endeavor to accomplish something great; to unify the world, to strengthen the working class, and to glorify humanity. I believe we all know that something went horribly wrong; but as an ode to the constants which remain, the cause has not been lost. The fact that some try to find fulfillment in an inappropriate and unfulfilling manner does not change the fact that fulfillment is possible to discover.
Let us raise the socialist banner of the working class and the swastika once more; let us correct that which was damaged and renew that which was lost.
Actually, you don’t know what people is more ignorant, the ones who use the swastika for wrong nazi ideas or the others that against them, cross out that ancient symbol.
I thank you for your website. I hate when people ignorantly assume the swastika was a nazi invention. Thank you for showing the truth. I want to find a shirt with the swatika on it so I can inform people on the true meaning of it.
@anti-fascist – The views of site readers hardly ever seem to be the views of the creators of this website (of which I am one). Nazi guerilla marketing? Quite the opposite!
I am often surprised by the level of racist and bigoted views that some people seem to hold. No, I don’t feel at home with such comments. But I don’t delete them, unless they become really extreme or off-topic.
However, people often write in with truly inspiring, forward-thinking comments. And sometimes people mention that they have been educated and positively affected by the information here. So, that makes the effort all worthwhile.
Wow.
Can the content of this website be explained by sheer ignorance? Or is it Nazi guerilla marketing?
Whatever, the strongly anti-Semitic content of a major part of the replies posted here speaks for itself. Tell me, do you feel at home in such company?
I rest assured that your absolutely laughable initiative will have no political impact to speak of. Otherwise, it would be quite unsettling …
Congratulations on a neat website which presents your case clearly. A great repository for information and views on this topic.
I’ve included a link to a recent post on my blog in which I’ve created a swastika using the letter J. A little off the beaten track but could be added to your collection.

Hell is a Christian invention, so you are probably looking forward to wind up there.
Jews are like censer and the Swastika don’t belong to them. Even though the Vikings used the Swastika a thousand years ago we prefer the sun wheel as a symbol of unity.
As Christmas is a bastardisation of the time on the sun Wheel the shortest day of the year and held in honour of the winter Solstice, have nice Yule celebration.
Odin is great and long live the Germanic People.
Stop this bullshit and read the other side of the history and not the history of the conqueror. The Jews won the war and it is history like they want you to see it. They love that the Goi’s (cattle)feel sorry, it has to be kept alive. Holocaust has become and industry that keeps them in command.
Read the Talmud!!!!!!
Don’t blame it on Hitler and the Germanic people.
As an educator, I feel the only option is to teach the world all about the Swastika. If we don’t, people will only attribute this symbol to Hitler and the Holocaust.
Hitler managed to taint and destroy this historical and positive symbol, and we must show the world what the Swastika really is.
Will we let this treasured symbol remain in the dark forever? Or will we turn darkness into light?
People have died for them, because of them, babies have been burned alive (Holocaust) and earlier in History Christian babies have been spit-roasted by other Christians because of them (Crusades).
I doubt there would be any member of the Jewish community would want to revitalise something that represents the wholesale murder of their people.
Ultimately, I think that it is an indifferent perspective that suggests that the swastika should be reinstated. If you think for more than a minute with any human feeling what it would have been like to have been in the shoes of those whoe suffered under this ‘symbol’ you wouldn’t think for the rest of eternity on the possibilities of using it.
I hope this perspective challenges people today. even though it is not unique.

crosses have been used to kill people for thousands of years yet we still see them hanging everywhere, Reclaim the swastika

Swastika is greater than Hitler. Just because the devil wears a Cross would it make the Cross any less divine?
