I think we should make the distinction between the swastika, and the Hakken kreuz. Yes there is still a stigma in Germany, maybe one day we will be able to heal this little blemish on our 20th century skin. But for now let us focus upon the fact that the swastika is a very ancient symbol. There is a monument at the top of Panorama drive in Ilkley West Yorks , called the Swastika stone. This is a cup & ring feature, of the beaker people. The squared off, and 45 deg canted version, used by the 3rd Reich, was hijacked, and used as their party symbol. We should be able to reclaim this, and freely educate the young that it was a bad symbol for only 12 years. yes I can understand that airfix kits of german wwii planes in Germany don’t come with tailfin insignia. It is also an offence to deny the holocaust. Basically an infringement of human rights, of sorts. But for good reason. Maybe one day we will mature sufficiently to be able to put these issues to bed. But surely this symbol, basically a version of the wheel of life, must endure? why should we let the memory of a few long dead right wing extremists change our perspective. Isn’t it time to educate?

Hi as you can see my name is swastika and every time i told someone my name they look at me funny.I wish the whole world can know the true meaning of swastika of how sacred it is instead of using it for evil.
i am the son of ralph raja shandilya and I myself am too a buddhist. I find it very odd when people look strangely at swastikas obviosly when they see a swastika they amidiatly asociate it with hitler. I agree with my father that the swastika is very important.

The word “swastika” comes from the Sanskrit svastika – “su” meaning “good,” “asti” meaning “to be,” and “ka” as a suffix. Though the Nazis gave it a wrong meaning by varying its direction- the clockwise version which doesnt make any sense. The counter-clockwise version holds the ancient meaning of the symbol, life and good-luck for all of us.
A symbol so pure in its meaning and so important as in belief by people all over the world should be given its due respect. People who know history from the second world war should return to the books and read some more of it to get the proper understanding of this symbol. Changing the US Navy building because it resembles Swastik is immature. US has been a guiding force in shaping world history and this act will not be digested well by many.

The symbol will only ever be appreciated by those who are ready to see what lies beneath the surface of things. The negative form of it could be said to be materialism at its worst, and the positive form of it, to be the Ascension of Consciousness, when the Yin and the Yang are in harmony.

I live in a city, whose flag is a black swastika. It’s as old as the 2nd half of the XIIth century at least.
The city name means city of Light, or Lug, an ancient celt god. The flag was exported to Ceuta (now spanish, in the north o Africa- East side of the strait ) in 1415. Several maps of the age of discoveries (XV- XVI centuries) show portuguese territories with a swastika flag. Ancient stones have the symbol carved bronze and iron ages at least.
As follower of the ancient religion of Persia, I would like to say that in central Portugal we have a prayer: «God prevent us from bad ideias, bad words and bad actions» and we make crosses on the forehead, the lips and the chest. Aryan from the Caucasus reach here in the Vth century, or it’s older?
Some people consider Tomar, the sacret center of the country. Inside the wall (paredes) of a XIIth century castle we have the 3 plants: Cupressus , orange tree and myrtus.

Glad you introduced that one to Americans and the world!
Indeed, not only is the San Diego bay Marines buildings in Coronado, CA built in the shape of a Swastika, there are others within American Borders.
Another good item worth mentioning is that America’s own Boy Scouts has used the Swastika in their regalia!
We haven’t had the time to mentione these yet as we are still compiling research material for our publication of complete data and specifics on this subject!

If you look at a Google map of the US Marines buildings in Coronado, CA in the San Diego bay, you will notice that they are shaped in a swastika.
There are also some interesting paleolithic drawings which consist of 4 elk or some such animal joined at the feet extending in the four directions. You should try to find some images on the web, it is hard to visualize without seeing but it does seem to be some sort of proto-swastika.
BTW RAJ the symbol the cross should be an insult to christ and cristians cause that was not only where he so called died for our sins that was also where he died and was tortured soo pretty much everyone is representing the device used to torture gos so called son and not only that the cross is a not holy it is bloody
If some retarded maniac uses the cross as his symbol, and murders millions, would you ban CROSS, a symbol of Christianity? Swastik is an original symbol of spirituality, wishing well to all living beings.
