I think we have come to a conclusion. No one is interested. You and I are alone and as neither of us started the debate, I have to ask where is the creator and why have they dried
Ivan.Then what should be done?And how?Here i feel that only you and me are parting in this debate.Ppl sometime make some comments.But then there’s no further activity.We are hoping more from all.We need the comments from those who don’t want it and why?Then only through logic we will be able to reach any conclusion.But as you’re witnessing the active participation of ppl are very less.
Thats the problem Lisa. We cannot change ignorance and bad education now. We can only try to educate, but what you are educating is part pork and part solid ivory you are on a hiding to nothing. Ivory from the neck upwards will take nothing in. I sometimes fell that some folk are just about aware that they are alive.

Yeah ivan.Quite right.Here we’re finding some ppl with common thoughts and some with contrasting ones.But what can we do in real?Its not the question of just a symbol but the question of myth attached with it.I mean in west such a great stigma is attached with it that it seems just impossible to remove it.And how can we really spread the right notion and meaning of swastika among the masses.Ppl might think-what the hell to do with it?But that means sheer ignorance.It cant help out anyone.Without knowing the proper meaning and value of something it utterly sounds biased to ban something.We are posting our thoughts.But is that really gonna change the mentality of ppl to any extent.I really doubt it.

i still belive in religious freedom and free speach ,and banning this flag dont hide the fact of what the nazi’s done or attempted to do to other races and religions ,

As lisa says It is not doing a deal just talking about the swastika and it’s positive sides. I joined this group thiniking that something coujld be done to get the symbol recognsed as a peacefull shape. Up to now it seems the group consists of Lisa and I and a couple others. It is nice to make friends but there could be more of us.
I wonder why the arms and ammunition aren’t banned which cause terror.Instead we engage ourselves in petty things like banning a symbol etc etc.Now this its the age of globlisation .Even if now we will pull east and west apart.Then that would so outdated.There should be the exchange of knowledge customs and culture.The partiality towards a particular symbol shows how ignorant we are infact.We sometimes burn our hand in fire.But can we ban it.Or can we forget what are its advantages(every one knows) .Similarly the swastika can have a positive note underneath.We should try to focus at that aspect.And having prejudice towards someone having that symbol is totally wrong.Its injustice.
Umm.I don’t know ivan whether using counterclockwise or clockwise is right.But certainly i don’t like the way its portrayed in nazi flag.I mean at 45 degree tilt.Anyways this site is very nice for having us proposing our thoughts.But how can we practically raise our voice for reclaimin swastika.I mean is there any group or something.Or even that is illegal?Let me know if you have some idea.
Lisa has it right. I am also glad she mentioned the wheel as the theory is that a swastiks is a spinner, in it’s counter clockwise format it turns to the left gathering the power of light. This explains Hitlers devotion to the clockwise version gathering the powers of darkness. This is why I use the counterclockwise version as do many including the Hindu’s who put a great deal of faith in it.
And apart from its cultural meaning this symbol also has a beautiful design.I mean if you’ll notice it ,you’ll find its like a wheel ,a rotating one.Its really a nice geometric design.Ppl shouldnt really ban it./Ivan yeah i know this symbol cant take away the life of any person.In the end its human who is responsible for any massacre. i only meant,swastika should be welcomed by all. this symbol might invoke their(victims’) previous fear.But that was the past.Now time has changed.And ppl get to change.But only if they feel easy.They shouldnt be forced.For example once you’ll have a drowning experience you might even fear water.But other wont.Other shouldnt be stopped from swimming.Likewise others shouldnt be barred from using swastika.And every one with this symbol shouldnt be related to nazi.Thats my plea to all.
Proffessor Eagle Owl. You have hit the nail right on the head. Re-education is the only answer. I too have pointed out the reason for my swastika but in vane with 1/2 of the population of my town being stuck in the mud of the 1940′s and the other 1/2 being thick as shit, I find I am beating on an empty drum. I say nothing unless asked but now feel unlike wasting my breath. Hitler has a lot to answer for
The swastika obviously has a very long, beautiful, and mainly peaceful history. Sadly, for many in the western world it shall for ever be tarnished thanks to its use by the Nazi party. This however does not prevent me from educating those as to the symbols true, peaceful meaning. I have swastikas around my house, on web pages, and on my being, and am continually being referred to as a Nazi. I inform these individuals of the facts, sadly many still do not take heed. Educating kids from a young age is the answer for me. It is about time the symbol became known for the right reasons again. Peace.
I have to say that I have been pulled on two occasions for wearing my St George badge and told that it is offensive to certain cultures. Now here in the UK I find this unnaceptable. St George id our patron saint and I shall not remove it. Anyone who does not like it can look the other way. I feel the same about my swastika which I carry in a case in my pocket.

The swastika was in use somewhere around 2000 bc an was uased by Adolf Hitler for a lot less years than that. Although millions were murdered by the Nazi Swastika wearers I don’t see the symbol is to blame and should not have to be covered by toses of us who wish to use it today. My red , counter clockwise swastika sits on its feet and gives great pleasure. The black clockwise swastika of the Nazi culture sits on it toes and looks to be falling backwards. It cannot gather the spirit of light in that position. It was our swastika that was taken and Bastardised by that mad Boheimian and due to some very narrow minded people today there cannot be seen the difference.
Aptly said matthew.A symbol could have dual meaning for two cultures.And it would be quite injustice to ask the sufferers accept the icon that was once used during their torture.I mean they shouldnt really be forced.But the question is not that.The question comes for that proportion of ppl for whom the symbol has some special meaning.And those who had no part in the suffering of the innocents.Should they be bar from using swastika as their holy symbol?I think then that would be really racist.What do you think?
I think it’s too optimistic to assume that the swastika can be “reclaimed.” I know that at one time and for many people still today it is a positive image, but the fact is that meanings of symbols or words can change over time to the point where they have nothing to do with their original meaning. I think the deep association it has now has damaged its imagery irrevocably. However, I still wish you luck in your endeavors; it would be nice to have one more positive symbol in the world.
Thanks ivan.Infact i got to this site after googling for swastika.I had my vacation from school so i decided to do something interesting.I thought to know bout different religions and cultures and different areas.I begin with hinduism.And through wiki yahoo etc.I got a lot of information.Then i thought about swastika.And decided to know bout it in details.I knew it was once also attached with nazi.And i was confused how they got it.Anyways then after reading about the ban in germany i was really shocked.My emotions are always with those who were the victims of holocaust.But i was equally surprised that SWASTIKA has also became a victim. But i hope the true meaning and sacred value of this symbol will come into light one day.Thanks to all.
