.See .I just wanna say .By banning swastika which is used by over a billion ppl as a symbol of good luck and auspiciousity ,no one can propagate love.BeCause hatred spreads hatred. And forgiveness spreads love. Now how could be a mere symbol responsible for the death of millions of innocent lives? Its the mentalility of the person or group. The ego ,the feeling of racism ,the pseudo attitude of superiority are the reasons behind such acts which ashames humanity for centuries. But you cant blame a symbol.Or by banning it you cant eradicate the root cause of racism. Now i’m really glad that many ppl from west are supporting that banning swastika wont be a right decision.Instead those persons or groups should be banned which use any symbol for propagating hatred.Thats all.May god bless you all.

Ashley my man. There is no problem using the name Adolph. It’s well noted though that the name Hitler seems to be unused these days. He had relatives so what went wrong? Thhe answer is they changed their names and a lot of them pledged never to have children in case his genes carried on.

The swastika is a symbol for peace and health. In its counter clockwise version the Hindu’s also use it as a symbol of good luck. It has been around since about 200 BC and was only bastardised once by Adolph BHitler and his national Socialist buddies.
Thousands of years of pleasant aknowledgment was wiped out by one sawn off little bastard and has never been the same since. That is why this group has come into being to try and get the symbol back on stream. It’s power is of the mind, just like the lucky rabbits foot.. I could never understand that one. It was never lucky for the rabbit.

You know, when Ms.Fu told us about tolorance, she mentions HItler.I don’t want to say his first name, becuase some people will know that I am talking about him. I want to know how powerful is the precious swastika, and how the Nazi’s dameged it’s great symbol. Now…it has two meanings.

  6. 615. Mitchell says:

I agree, the swastika needs to mean what it really means, or we will have lost a war we still think we’ve won… Although I prefer the “counter clockwise swastika” to the one you seem to be using.

I have a right turning swastika tattoo set within a six petaled lotus flower. Three diferent individuals have added to this swastika: a man of Japanese decent who had early memories of being brought by his parents to a buddhist temple where there was a large buddha statue with a swastika painted on its forehead, a woman who was born on an israeli kibbutz who also had a swastika on her forearm, and a young woman of jewish decent who had relatives who had survived the holocaust.
The sacred meaning of the swastika should be recaimed.

i learned about the swastika by doing a research papaer on it and before i didnt know much about it but now i am glad i do. Before i thought it was a very bad sign that hitler used on his flag but now that i have done research on it i have learned that it is a good luck sign in other in other countries and that it a very respected sign. i think that the swastika is a good sign! people just think of it as a bad sign because hitler used it. they have no idea about its history and what it really means to certain countries. i would love to change the minds of everyone and tell them about how good the swastika really is. we need to stad up for this sign and spread the wotrd that its a good sign!

I would love to reclaim it as the symbol of peace as it once was. However, I know that if this ever got into any real form of debate and went to the courts. The instance a ‘Holocaust’ survivor steps in the room… before even speaking of the horrors they suffered and endured for so long, the debate would end before it even began.

What has to happen is, people have to come to terms with the fact that, yes, it was the symbol of the ‘Nazi Party’ and for a period of five years, horrible atrocities were committed under many a banner with the Nazi symbol above. This however takes away from the fact that, the swastika did not in any way, shape or form commit these crimes, but rather people wearing this symbol, or under the symbol committed said crimes.

It is almost too much to bear when listening to people speak of the evils committed and then realise that they are only appealing to our emotions through said crimes. They are not trying to see that other people use this symbol, which is not associated with Hitler or the hate bred underneath his rule. The people opposed to this are simply trying to erase everything connected to this awful period of time and although what they are doing is more than understandable, it is however in vain, for the Nazis have been defeated for the last 64 years now and such horrible events will never take place again due to such cautions taken after the war and during the new governments that followed the fall of ‘The Third Reich’.

The symbol its self, for five-thousand years has been a symbol of peace and used throughout the world as such. In conclusion, the people underneath this symbol, during WW2, were the ones who committed the crimes and have all met their fates at the hands of legal systems and reprisals at the end of gun points and pitchforks of the victors. Although few escaped, they have all met their end at the hands of time. After so long, it is time to look past symbols and words and look at the ideals, ideals which prompted such barbarism, and for many to go over sea and land to fight against these ideals.

Symbols don’t kill people, people kill people.

The swastika can also be found in the American Indian culture.
There is a photo of Jacqueline Kennedy in her teenage years, wearing a Native American costume with a big swastika on it.
Look it up in the internet.

What does it matter what anyone thinks in the World. The Swastika has existed as a symbol of Power in one form or another since Man started thinking for Himself. It doesn,t matter to me if you are Believers or Non-Believers. What does matter is that I can stay a Dis-Believer, and not care aboit a few squiggly-lines.

I am sure that there is a lot of ignorance around. Take my wife for example (please take her as far as you can) She would not know a Hindu swastika from a garlick bulb. The swastika to her means Hitler and that is that. Sadly she is not on her own.

Millions of people died under the Hammer and Sickle Comunist Symbol, but it doesn’t seem to offend anybody to see a person walking around wearing a t-shirt bearing it.

But if you wear a t-shirt with a buddist swastica on it, they would try to arrest you or lynch you.

    Why is it like that?
Is it because it offends Jewish people?

    Hello again!

I note that on your page here:

    http://reclaimtheswastika.com/symbolism/

…it’s stated that there’s a ‘positive’ and a ‘negative’ swastika. This is somewhat misleading if we take the symbol, as it’s been used, across the globe throughout its prodigously long history. The notion of one direction being negative should not, in any way, be taken as meaning evil or bad. Negative in this sense relates to the feminine aspect of the symbol. We find swastika symbols relating to the moon which take the supposed ‘negative’ rotation, and many other aspects. It would be good to emphasize that this idea of positive and negative is based on dualist thinking systems: seeing one side as good as the other as bad, which is not what the reverse swastika is representative of. Examples highlighting this are legion. Please let’s not fall prey to simplistic Judaeo-Xtian notions of right & wrong, good & bad, when we see this ancient symbol. It’s nature is much more expansive than those reductionist terms and perspectives.

Anyway – soz about the rant!

    All the best – Paul

people should not say things such as the swastika is a sign of hatred as it is only believed like so because of hitler who actually stole the symbol from the hindus. For the people who come from india the swastika means good luck but for the people who come from fiji have a another meaning for it i only know the 2 parts and they are love and life there are another 2 but i don’t know them. Hitler did do a lot of bad things but stealing a sacred symbol is just not cool. this might sound very funny coming from a 14 (15 this year) old girl but it is true. I hate the hatred around. i have gotton my self more involved in this type of situation oly after i read the book ‘the boy in the striprd pyjamas’ please look this up and see that the swastika is only a symbol of hate only because of hitler otherwise it is a peaceful symbol.

14 (15 this year) girl from Auckland New Zealand is a concerned citizen

please look up all that hitler did you might find out more of the truth.

The movie ‘the boy on the striped pyjamas’ has come out in New Zealand and many other countries, i know it comes out later in some countries but that doesn’t matter watch this movie. i can assure you, you will remember some scenes.

    Best of Luck

Excellent website! This has always been my favourite symbol since I saw the Swastika Stone, Ilklkey Moor when I was 10 year old (see it here – http://megalithix.wordpress.com/2008/07/25/the-swastika-stone-ilkley-moor/ ). The earliest known swastika comes from eastern Europe and dates from between 15,000-18,000 BC. Earlier than the great Hindu mythos! But somewhere, niggling at the back of my mind, tells me there’s an example from around 20,000 BC, carved onto mammoth tusks in western Russia – but don’t quote me on that one! Keep up the good work on this website!
All the best – Paul (Megalithix)
