i don’t get the passivity on this issue. I’ve seen Om depicted in the context of drug use and wanton sex while believers in Dharma let it go. Then they turn around and hyperventilate over underwear with pictures of Ganesh or an album cover with Krishna with a cats head.

Buudhist Swastika: Don’t get confused about the definitions. “swastika” means good luck in sanskrit, but “hakenkreuz” means “hooked cross” in German, thus changing the context.

I am an educated person and I know what the true meaning of the swastika was and I dispise the Nazi’s for changing the meaning! It is not fair that Hitler changed it to mean hate and evil. In schools teachers should explain what the true meaning of the swastika so that the next generation can teach their kids and so on unitl the horrible meaning that Hitler had created for the swastika is forgotten and the swastika is accepted in society as a symbol of love and light and happiness.

I constantly see people behind me, taking pictures of it and pointing. I have had only one road rage incident.(I love Pepper Spray.) He was both color-blind and illiterate, so I don’t know how he got his license.

EG, you are so off track it’s sad. The Swastika extends WAY beyond Buddhism and Hinduism. Our own Natives in America also used the Swastika, WE Americans used it in so many forms up until WWII. Pretty much every religion (including Christianity) used it, it was used in advertising in America as well as signs. It was always a sign of all things good. We can not ignore that- if we do we accept defeat by Hitler and his Third Reich. Carrying an ID card to prove religion is nonsense and something Hitler himself would have thought up. If we ban the Swastika for it’s MISUSE, let’s also ban the cross because of the KKK using it as a symbol of HATE. Let’s make Christians carry an ID card to prove their cross necklace is being used as a sign of love and not racism. Sound stupid now?
Let’s just accept the love of the Swastika and forget all of the evil bigots using it incorrectly. Let’s remember the good, and let’s understand when ice age weapons were found with swastikas on them it was a sign of good luck, and not antisemitism.
