It is Lord Max Muller who first invented the idiotic Aryan Race theory and used it to project European white people’s dominance as it was needed at that time to justify European colonial rule( no, am not against any European white people.)It also gave justification to idiot Pre-Nazi German historians to link vedas with German white people and hence Aryan Supremancy. This made the idiot Hitler to steal Swastika from Hinduism and use it as his bloody Nazi party. WE, Indian Hindus never never supported any kind of Genocides in the name of Race or religion. In fact, our sacred Vedas chant ‘Lokha Sarvaa Sukhinobhavantoo’ when translated means ” Let the whole world be at peace”. This was written long before any Human rights were declared in UNO. Swastika is for Humanity. It is collective mistake of European Historians of Nazi times to support Aryan Race and hence help Nazis pervert the sacred Swastika.
The reality is.. millions of innocent men women and children.. all my relatives.. were burned to death over this symbol. We cannot change that.. This burning memory cannot be taken out of our memory.. nor should it. It is what it is. There’s nothing to take back. There’s no one to bring back. They’re all gone thanks to the nazis. Bringing back a symbol will not bring back lost love, it will only remind us of those robbed of their lives. I don’t ever want to see this symbol. It brings up so many difficult emotions.. for what? This symbol has come to represent the worst humanity has ever dared. It can’t be changed, nor should it. It should remain a symbol for what people can do to each other when they do not see the image of Gd’s holiness in the “other.” The damage is done. Leave it alone.

I have an old dictionary which uses the word “swawistaka” as the name of the left pointing vs the right pointing one you use. But I cannot find this word on the web. Has it fallen completely out of use?
The Swastika has been a sacred symbol for Hindus from time immemorial. Going by the logic of the people who advocate banning of the swastika, the 1st symbol that should be banned must be the ‘crescent and the star’, because it is being used by Muslim terrorists all over the world. Going a step further I would also advocate banning of the ‘cross’ that has been the symbol of the Ku Klux Klan.
I would ask that why should the Hindus suffer for no fault of theirs and feel deprived by not being allowed to use their sacred symbol when someone in the west used our symbol .

Swastika is to Buddhism and Jainism as the Cross is to Christians. So tell me, how would someone feel if Christians are told to change their symbol because of what the Christians did to the world with their religion?
Swastika is still used on daily bases in South Asia, South East Asia and East Asia. That will not change, its the ignoramuses like you who speak without knowing anything that will ruin everything.

Edward. If you think the reclamation of the Swastika is futile, then do you not think it better to reclaim the meaning instead. So if reclaming the symbol is not your cup of tea would spreading the meaning of Swastika, which means All Well Being may infact invoke a platform of acceptance and respect?
Darius Forrest and Kenny cindric. May I address your confusion. There are many many varieties of the Swastika symbol. Some right facing and some left facing. Respectfully both are positive within the cultures they belong to. Hindus will depict the symbol as the generation of energy where as Buddhist will depict the receeding. The Nazi depiction is called the Hakenkreuz, not Swastika. It is strictly the black, white and red with the angled hooked cross. Now there are strict Swastika symbols that also have the similar angle of the Hakenkreuz. this is incidental. So in short, there are many variations of the symbol with sometimes different backgrounds and meanings. All are positive, except the Hakenkreuz.

and lets say the swasticka did make a “come back” it dosent really matter. this site and efforts and ideals of all here are futile and vain. your labors will come to nothing. i am even ashamed of myself for even posting this. there is way better things to expend energy on. save the swasticka foundation. Im a little confused guys, your swastika sign shows it pointing to the right as good and pointing it to the left as negative. But in other sites and blogs it has the ancient indo-european sun sign with the swastika in a upward angle pointing left. Now which means which? Is it different cultural meaning? Because all hitler did was take the peace swastika and made it face upward pointing to the right. Please help, thanks.

The swastika was an ancient spiritual symbol, until the Nazis ruined it. To you kind souls who are washing and scrubbing it, hang in there!
I am A soldier for this movement. I have branded myself with the Swastika permanently and I continue to speak on the reclamation of its peaceful reputation! Revolution!

I have been trying for years to get the same point across, but ignorance prevails. I’ve studied symbolism new and old since 1967 starting at the age of 12. A few weeks ago Fox tv ran an article about swastika earings being sold in jersey. I had to call and explain to them that they goofed. The earings were backward images of the asian symbols trampled on by the reich. These symbols were used by several native indian tribes. Imagine that. The media doesn’t know what they’re talking about almost as often as the government.
